These wonderful creatures come into rescue from the widest possible array of conditions. It may have been from a tragedy in their current family or being dumped when they were no longer wanted. In every case, it's not their fault. They have unlimited love and are always willing to love again. The level of commitment on your part is significant - never get a rescue without consulting your whole family first. Once you've decided to a lifetime commitment, talk carefully with the current owners or rescuing group - it's important you know all about your Doberman before you take it home including any quirks or any bad habits -- make sure you're prepared for them all and willing to commit to the necessary effort. Available Rescues
The rescue pages are organized to help you find a Doberman in
your area. Unfortunately, there are Dobermans available throughout the
world, more every day. As a result, it's best to rescue in your own "backyard." DobermanResQ generally does not adopt out of the area and we do not ship Dobermans. Each
Doberman has a unique history, look, personality; yet we feel each Doberman has
unlimited love to give and wants very much to be a part of a family that both wants it and are willing to devote the effort to make it work.
Dobermans are not animals to leave outside or relegate to a cage, Dobermans need and want to be with you and the whole family as much as
possible. Dobermans are pack animals and you are their pack.
San Diego (Local) Dobermans identifies Dobermans in rescue in San Diego both at local shelters, from private owners and through the DobermanResQ network. Hundreds of Dobermans have been saved and rehomed in San Diego and Riverside Counties.Our volunteers carefully match available Dobermans to families to try and ensure relationships that last for life.

The quality of shelters and rescues varies widely, yet every Doberman in rescue needs the chance for a better life. Please adopt a rescue if at all possible.
