Doberman ResQ ADOPTED - Bonnie

Black & Tan female

(11/14/08) Bonnie: Bonnie was one of our sad cases: rescued, adopted and through no fault of her own, returned to rescue. Her adoptive owner had to go into hospice due to failing health and, alas, Bonnie had to be returned to rescue. Made all the more sad by the fact she was totally bonded to her owner and he to her. It took more than a month to get Bonnie back and to minimize the stress Angie found a person willing to foster Bonnie until her new forever home came along. Her foster mom, Maria, gently brought Bonnie though the transition from her previous home. Angie made frequent trips to help Bonnie and Maria adapt through some trying times. During the transition, Maria fell in love with Bonnie and decided she already had her forever home. Bonnie and Maria are both doing wonderfully.

Original Posting:

(10/23/08) Bonnie: Bonnie has just arrived at rescue after a long ride from Nevada. Her owner for the past 3½ years, sadly, finally moved into assisted living. He kept Bonnie as long as he possibly could as her loved this little bundle of joy a lot and didn't want to let her go until the very last minute. She is very sweet and need lots of love in her new home. She's a bit overweight but we're working to drop the weight as soon as we can. We have a couple of new photos of Bonnie, shown below, that were taken today.

(9/6/08) Bonnie: A wonderfully sweet 5-6 year old black & tan female with natural ears and natural tail. Bonnie may be mixed with a Manchester Terrier which makes her especially people friendly and a bit smaller than a regular sized Doberman. Bonnie, unfortunately, is one of our return alumni. She was adopted by a wonderful man who now is going into assisted living and can no longer keep her. Bonnie is also a three legged girl but gets around just fine. We believe someone threw acid on her and her leg had to be removed before her first time in rescue. The photo and video here are from her first visit and she'll be returning soon to rescue. We would absolutely love to find her a forever home before she has to be returned to the kennels, better for her and the new family. If you can open your heart and your home you won't be sorry. Bonnie will be best as an only pet. She's housetrained and originally was listed as good with cats but we're not sure. The video and first picture below are from when Bonnie was first in rescue, the other 2 photos are more recent.
