Red & Rust male
(9/2/09) Zen (update): Here's Zen being the super star in the Canine Good Citizen Class taught by Angie on Saturdays. Zen and his Marine owner are a pefect match and Zen keeps getting better everyday.
(8/4/09) Zen (update): "Zen has gotten used to his new home very fast! He's becoming very obedient and he loves to be around us. Training is going better than we thought. We're still working on the walks, he's great running with Aaron, but still gets distracted with all the new scents and noises when we're walking. He's not very friendly to other dogs, although yesterday we had a major improvement with our friend's 6 month old Great Dane (too bad I forgot the camera)."
"Below are a couple of pictures. The first two pictures are from his first day here with us, we've got him a big metal crate since then. The second two are from our walk at one of the trails close to our house yesterday afternoon. I'll send more when we have better ones! Thanks to all his sponsors, Zen's a great pet! We're a very happy family! - Maloup."
(7/29/09) Zen: Aaron, a Marine, saw Zen on the website when he was looking for an addition to his family. Aaron and his
wife Maloup made arrangements to meet Zen and went to Angie's and spent 1½ hours with him. Thanks to all Brian and Pam's hard work socializing Zen, he was great. Aaron and Maloup have no kids or pets so Zen fits their
family perfectly and it's exactly the type of home he needed to be his best. On his first full day with his new family Zen went for a 4 mile run with Aaron. We hear he's been a very good boy and this is the happy ending so many having been working so long for. Our congratulations to Zen, Aaron and Maloup and our deepest thanks to Brian, Pam and everyone who so generously supported Zen's in his recovery and ultimate adoption. This is one of the rescue endings that make us all glad to be involved in DobermanResQ.

(07/09/09) Zen (update): Zen has developed into a wonderful Doberman and is better than we ever could have thought possible. Although he got along with Mojo he would do best as an only dog or with a large passive dog. He's almost through his Good Canine Citizen course thanks to Pam and Bryan. He has been regular worked, walked and basically been rehabilitated by Pam and Byran, shown in the photos below on "bath day" with his now good buddy Mojo (Zen on the right and Mojo on the left). Zen's a very loving Doberman and will be your best buddy. Fully recovered and ready for a forever family to love.
(05/28/09) Zen (update): Zen continues to improve beyond all expectations. His hip fracture is almost fully healed, and in a week or two he should be able to have complete off leash freedom. He's put on some much needed weight and is looking much better than when he first arrived. He is currently enrolled in our Canine Good Citizen class and is doing well. This lover boy is a fast learner and is eager to please.
(05/04/09) Zen: A 9 month old red & rust male with natural ears and a docked tail. This sweet boy was hit by a car and has a cracked pelvis/leg. He's been vet checked, his pelvis/leg will continue to heal for the next 4 to 5 months and then should remain stable, hopefully, for the next 8 to 10 years. In later life he may develop arthritis. Currently he's in no pain at all and his prognosis is excellent. He needs a foster home, with no other dogs or cats, for 6 to 8 weeks to allow the pelvis to mend. He needs to be kept relatively quiet and only walked on a leash until healed. If you can find it in your heart, Zen needs all the sponsors he can get.
