How you can help

We appreciate your interest in Doberman Rescue and your interest in helping. This form helps us collect vital information and to try and utilize you and your skills in the most appropriate ways. Below you will be asked to tell us about you, your experience and the areas you would like to help Doberman Rescue here in Southern California. All volunteer positions are uncompensated and you perform any and all volunteer activities at your own risk. As a small, volunteer group we cannot offer training for beginners, volunteers must be both experienced and seasoned.

There are a number of areas that sometimes require volunteers, most notably transporting Dobermans, doing home inspections, doing home follow ups, working with rescued Dobermans for socialization and basic obedience, and fostering Dobermans. These require varying levels of experience so please try to answer all questions fully. It is also important that you understand, even if fully qualified, we may not call on your generously offered services. The level of volunteer requirements varying depending on the number and types of Dobermans in rescue.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As a volunteer for Doberman Rescue, you assume all liability and risk for any and all activities that you may volunteer for. You explicitly release from liability all organizations and individuals from any and all injuries, damages or consequences that may occur while performing as a volunteer. This includes but is not limited to damage to vehicles, injuries to yourself and other persons (from animals or other occurences) and all other property and personal damages. As a volunteer you are acting as an individual NOT as a representative or agent of DobermanResQ, Doberman Rescue or any other organization. If you cannot or will not assume the risks that accompany being a volunteer PLEASE DO NOT APPLY TO BE A VOLUNTEER. By applying as a volunteer you agree to the above. A waiver of liability must be executed before acting as a volunteer. These terms and conditions may change at anytime without notice and you agree to be bound by subsequent changes.

Specifics of volunteering

In this section we would like to know the specifics of your generous offer to volunteer. Please answer only the questions that relate to what you are volunteering for (for example, if you are not offering to foster, ignore the foster questions).

How long can you foster a Doberman for:

Sometimes we rescue from or adopt to Riverside or Orange Counties. For a home inspection or follow-up travel would be from your home to the adopter's home and back. For rescues it would be from your home to the shelter or place the Doberman is located to a foster home or kennels (in east San Diego County) and back. We have transported rescues as far-away as Utah, but it is rare.
